It has been announced that singer and actor Hoshino Gen will be appearing in "LIFE! 12th Anniversary SP", a special episode celebrating the 12th anniversary of NHK's comedy variety show "LIFE!", hosted by Uchimura Teruyoshi of the comedy duo "Ucchan Nanchan". This will be Hoshino's first appearance on "LIFE!" in seven years, and he will reprise his popular character.
"LIFE!" aired a special episode on BS Premium in 2012, and series 1 began on NHK General TV in 2013. So far, it has produced popular characters such as Ika Daio, Mitsuya Kanji, Uchujin Prime Minister, Usotaro, Omoemon, Kats Eye, Yokai Doshitarōka-chan, Guessnic Magazine Saijo, and Plus Conductor.
The 12th anniversary special episode "LIFE! 12th Anniversary SP" will be broadcast on NHK General TV from 9:30 pm on September 16th and 23rd. Hoshino will only appear on the second night on the 23rd, and it has been announced that Mizukami Koji (second night only) and Muro Tsuyoshi will also be joining the cast.
