The latest chapter, chapter 401, of Yoshihiro Togashi's popular manga "HUNTER x HUNTER," which is currently being serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), was published in the magazine's 45th issue, released on October 7th. This is the first time the work has been published in "Weekly Shonen Jump" in about a year and nine months since the magazine's combined 2023 issue No. 4/5, released on December 26, 2022. It appeared in the center color of the issue, with the captions "The latest chapter is published!!" and "The battle for the throne on the ship is heating up!".

In the combined 2023 issue No. 4/5, which contained the 400th chapter, the manga announced that it would be changing its publication format from chapter 401 onwards. In consideration of Togashi's health condition, from chapter 401 onwards, "after consulting with the author and the editorial department, we have decided to deliver the series to everyone in a format that is not a weekly serialization," the magazine stated.

"HUNTER x HUNTER" depicts the adventures of a young boy named Gon, who leaves his hometown to become a professional hunter like his father, who he left at a young age, and his friends, including Killua, who grew up in an assassin family. The series began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1998. It was adapted into a TV anime in 1999, and a second anime version with a new staff and cast was broadcast on Nippon TV from 2011 to 2014. The comic series has sold over 84 million copies in total.

The series was serialized with some hiatuses, but it was put on hiatus in March 2012, just as the series had finished the "Election Arc" following the "Ant Arc" and had just entered a new episode. It resumed serialization in June 2014 after a hiatus of about two years and three months, but was put on hiatus again in August of the same year due to the author's back pain. It resumed serialization in April 2016 after a hiatus of about one year and eight months, but was put on hiatus again in July of the same year. The series has been on and off for a number of times, including hiatuses from July 2016 to June 2017, September 2017 to January 2018, and April to September 2018.

In October 2022, the series resumed after a hiatus of about three years and 11 months, with the publication of chapter 391. Since then, chapters 392 to 400 have been published, and the publication format will change from chapter 401.

The 45th issue of "Weekly Shonen Jump" features "ONE PIECE" on the cover. The supplement is a card for the "ONE PIECE Card Game." The card features a design of Shanks drawn by Suzuki Yuto of "SAKAMOTO DAYS." The 46th issue of the magazine, which will be released on October 15, will include a card with a design of Buggy drawn by Usuta Kyosuke of "Sexy Commando Gaiden Sugoi yo!! Masaru-san."
