On October 7th, it was announced that the second season of the TV anime "Nigejou no Wakadanna" (The Young Master Who Runs Away), based on the manga by Matsui Yusei, known for "Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro" and "Assassination Classroom", will be produced. The "Announcement of the Decision to Produce the Second Season" by calligrapher Maeda Kamatari was also released. The dynamic calligraphy is designed with the Hojo family crest in the background.

"Nigejou no Wakadanna" is a "story of escape" based on the historical facts of the wandering, hiding, and counterattack of Hojo Tokiyuki, a "young warlord who is good at running away". In 1333, the Kamakura Shogunate was destroyed by a sudden rebellion, and the boy Hojo Tokiyuki, who was supposed to be the successor to the Shogunate, was invited by Suwa Yorishige, a Shinano priest, to escape and start on the path to becoming a hero. It started in January 2021 in "Weekly Shonen Jump" as Matsui's first new series in about five years since "Assassination Classroom". Seventeen volumes of the comic have been released, with a total circulation of over three million copies. The latest volume, volume 18, will be released on December 4th.

The first season of the TV anime aired from July to September. The anime was directed by Yamazaki Yuta, who has worked on "Wonder Egg Priority" and other series, and produced by CloverWorks, who also worked on "Bocchi the Rock!". New voice actor Yukawa Asaki plays the main character, Hojo Tokiyuki. This is Yukawa's first lead role in a TV anime.
