Yuka Sugai, a former member of the idol group "Sakurazaka46" and now an actress, successfully predicted the winner of the G1 horse race "Osaka Hai" held at Hanshin Racecourse (Takarazuka City, Hyogo Prefecture) on April 5th, marking her second G1 victory of the year, following her win in the February Stakes in February.
The race saw the favorite, Derby winner Croix du Nord, win, marking a complete comeback, followed by the third favorite Meisho Tabal and the second favorite Danon Desail, with the top contenders finishing in the lead. Sugai correctly predicted the win and trifecta bets with Croix du Nord as the key horse.
Sugai made her predictions using an 8-point bet on the horse racing program "Keiba BEAT" (Kansai TV), where she serves as MC. The payout for the trifecta was a low 1050 yen for the second favorite, which would have resulted in a loss if she had bet the same amount. However, Sugai confessed that she varied the amounts she bet online and did not end up with a net loss. Fans responded with comments such as, "It's amazing that you bet so well without losing money," and "I still don't understand that method, so please teach me lol."
