A new McDonald's TV commercial starring actor Masato Sakai, "Tokuninaldo 'Summer Nuggets 15P Hammer'" was released on July 15th. In the new commercial, Sakai reappears dressed as "Mr. Tokuninaldo."
The commercial is in conjunction with a limited-time campaign to sell the popular side dish "Chicken McNuggets 15 pieces" at a special price of 490 yen, which will be implemented from July 23rd. Sakai appears with a giant nugget hammer on his shoulder, and swings down the nugget-shaped hammer while shouting "Tokuninaldo!" in the hammer striker-type attraction "Tokuninaldo Hammer". It will be aired from the 22nd.
In this campaign, two new, limited-edition sauces, "Garlic & Cheese Sauce" and "Yulin Chicken Style Sauce," will be available for the "15-piece Chicken McNuggets." Customers can choose three of their favorite sauces from a total of four types, including the classic barbecue sauce and mustard sauce. The products will also be offered in three original packages (limited quantities) in collaboration with "Pokémon." In addition to a light blue package that gives off a summery vibe, a yellow-based package that evokes Pikachu, and a package that allows you to enjoy a silhouette quiz, the products will also feature designs depicting Mega-Evolved Pokémon that appear in the new game "Pokémon LEGENDS ZA," which will be released on October 16th. The campaign will run until September 2nd.
