Imitation talent Korokke appeared on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which aired on September 11th. He talked about being diagnosed with osteoarthritis of the knee and undergoing surgery to insert an artificial joint in February, as well as the changes in his eating habits that led to his subsequent weight loss.
Korokke revealed, "The pain (in my knee) was quite severe. I first noticed the pain three or four years ago, but it was about a year ago that the pain became severe. I endured it and continued to perform on stage and in concerts, but eventually I was unable to stand up from a sitting position."
When examined at the hospital, it was discovered that "the cartilage in my knee had shifted and was rubbing against each other, creating a hole," so he decided to undergo surgery. "My healing ability had declined. Normally, (hospitalization) would end in about a month, but I was hospitalized for nearly three months," he said, showing a photo, adding, "My knee was swollen to about four times its normal size."
He lost about 15 kilograms during his hospitalization. "My face got too thin and I looked a little haggard. I've now gained back about 4 kilograms," he said. As a result, his eating habits changed. He stopped drinking alcohol as much, and while before his hospitalization he only ate sweets, he now eats ice cream.
When it comes to fruits, she says she has become very fond of oranges. Although she didn't eat many oranges before, she says with a smile, "I can eat about six a day without any problem." She cuts the oranges into bite-sized pieces, puts them in a container, keeps them refrigerated, and carries them with her when she goes out.
He also said that he has become less hungry, saying, "I used to buy two bento boxes, but now one is enough."
