The official trailer for the new theatrical anime film "Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie: Walpurgis Night" has been released on YouTube. It was also announced that Yuki Kajiura's solo project "FictionJunction" will be in charge of the theme song "Kanata," and a portion of the theme song was unveiled in the trailer.
Kajiura commented, "I have been eagerly awaiting 'Walpurgis Kaiten' for a long time. I was overjoyed that the time had finally come for me to compose the music, and then I received the offer to create the theme song. It is such an honor to be able to weave together all the music for this beautiful, nostalgic, poignant, and captivating film. I worked on the background music and the song 'Kanata' with a mix of excitement and nervousness, grappling with the script, storyboards, and the amazing visuals that had begun to come into motion. I didn't want it to be a song that simply answered the question, but as a big fan of the work that I have been involved with for so long, I carefully crafted each note to give them a magnificent send-off. I hope that it will add color to the experience of 'Walpurgis Kaiten' as everyone becomes immersed and bewildered by it."
"Puella Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie: Walpurgis Night" is a "legitimate sequel" to "Puella Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie: Rebellion," which was released in October 2013. The staff, including director Akiyuki Shinbo and screenwriter Gen Urobuchi, will be reuniting for the film. It will be released on August 28th.
"Puella Magi Madoka Magica" is an original anime series depicting the lives of magical girls burdened with harsh destinies, and the TV anime aired in 2011.
