It has been revealed that WOWOW will be exclusively broadcasting and streaming the performance of Ooochie Koochie, a unit formed in February this year by musician Tamio Okuda and singer/actor Koji Kikkawa, which will be held at Nippon Budokan (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) on September 11th and 12th in November. In addition, a lineup of Ooochie Koochie special features, including documentaries, for two consecutive months has also been announced.
Okuda and Yoshikawa were both born in Hiroshima Prefecture in 1965 and have known each other since high school. In order to give back to their hometown of Hiroshima and to liven up the nation, they formed a limited-time unit in February of this year, and have been on a nationwide tour since July, starting in Hiroshima. WOWOW will broadcast and stream their September Nippon Budokan performance in November under the title "Ooochie Koochie TOUR at Nippon Budokan."
Additionally, the music program "INVITATION/Koji Kikkawa" will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW Live and WOWOW On Demand from 6 PM on October 25th. The program will be the first encore broadcast and stream of the original music regular program "INVITATION," hosted by Ichiro Furutachi, which was broadcast and streamed on WOWOW from 2021 to 2022 and featured Koji Kikkawa. Okuda also appeared as a guest artist, performing a live performance of his carefully selected songs in a special studio.
"Ooochie Koochie Documentary: Tamio Okuda x Koji Kikkawa - Behind the Scenes of the Miracle Unit" will be broadcast and streamed on WOWOW Live and WOWOW On Demand from 7:30 PM on October 25th. The documentary closely follows Ooochie Koochie's nationwide tour, and will include footage of their Hiroshima performance in July, as well as rehearsals, behind the scenes footage from each performance, and interviews.
