It has been revealed that Kotoko Sasaki, along with her beloved cats Ash and Satoru, will be appearing as voice actors in the anime adaptation of the popular snack "Sakuyama Chocojiro" (Shoei Delicy). Sasaki will play Chusuke, the most knowledgeable character in the mountains who helps Chocojiro and his friends when they are in trouble, while Ash and Satoru will appear as Cat A and Cat B, respectively.
Sasaki commented, "Chusuke is knowledgeable and talkative, and I think the contrast with Chocojiro is interesting. All the characters are unique and cute, and it's a laid-back story that will make you chuckle. I hope you enjoy it while eating Choco Biscuits."
"Sakuyama Chocojiro" is a bite-sized chocolate biscuit combining biscuit, chocolate, and milk cream. This year marks its 10th anniversary. The anime tells the story of Tomo-Cho and Non-P, two high school girls who come to Chocodale Mountain and become friends with Chocojiro. It has been streaming on the official social media accounts every Friday since May 29th.
Ayano Joji, who voices Chocojiro, said, "Congratulations on the anime adaptation of 'Sakuyama Chocojiro' and on the 10th anniversary of its release! It's a snack I've loved and eaten since it was first released, so I'm very happy to be involved in this project. Everything about Chocojiro in the anime—his movements, gestures, and expressions—is incredibly cute! I'll do my best to bring out even more of his charm. Personally, I recommend watching Chocojiro's occasional human-like reactions, unexpected movements, and acrobatic moves! I hope it can bring a little bit of comfort to everyone. Please watch it!"
Yume Shinohara, who plays Sakuta, commented, "Congratulations on the 10th anniversary of the release and on the anime adaptation! 'Sakuyama Chocojiro' is one of my favorite snacks, so I put all my effort into the audition. I am truly happy to be involved in this project! Sakuta is a boy who is both innocent and mature and calm, so please look forward to seeing how he interacts with Chocojiro and his friends in the future! I will put my heart into each episode so that it can become a source of enjoyment in everyone's daily lives. Let's get excited together!"
Manami Miki, who plays Tomo-Cho, said, "I am truly happy that the anime adaptation is happening at this milestone of the 10th anniversary, and that I can be involved in the world of 'Sakuyama Chocojiro' as an original character. I feel that this work is filled with the warm feelings of the staff and everyone who has loved Chocojiro for the past 10 years! I would like to liven things up as 'Tomo-Cho' so that Chocojiro's cuteness can be conveyed even more! Please watch 'Sakuyama Chocojiro' every Friday at 3 PM."
Taniguchi Shiori, who plays Non-P, commented, "Congratulations on the 10th anniversary of its release! I am very happy to be able to participate in the anime adaptation of 'Sakuyama Chocojiro,' which has been loved by many people for many years. Non-P is a bit of a prankster, but she is a kind girl who cares about her friends. I myself am having fun playing Non-P, and I am also energized by her. It is a work that is packed with cuteness and humor and will make you smile. Please enjoy it with some sweets during snack time!"
