◇The following contains spoilers.
In episode 8, Musashi teams up with his nemesis, the blue demon Yamato (Fuma Kikuchi), to stop the out-of-control Hannya Ibuki (Kato Seishiro). After rescuing Yamato, he sneaks out of Ibuki's sight and detains him at the command center, demanding that he "tell me everything you know." In response to Musashi's questioning, Yamato reveals, "The Zashiki-warashi has probably infiltrated the broadcasting station right now."
Ibuki demands that Musashi expose the dark side of the Chief Cabinet Secretary's son, Junpei Shikine (Daichi Yamaguchi), within two hours. If he doesn't do it in time, a new device will attack Junpei's skull.
Musashi and Yamato rely on clues left by the demon to uncover the darkness that started it all. Musashi, who has obtained evidence, reveals on live TV that five years ago, Junpei forced his fan, Tobishima Ruri, to give him a large dose of illegal drugs at a club, causing her death. He also reveals that Yashiro (Takahashi Katsunori) covered up the truth, and then killed a reporter, Amuro Mitsuru, who found out about it, and asked Nopperabo to clean up the mess.
Then a zashiki-warashi appears before Junpei and removes its mask, revealing its true identity as Kutsuna Hisui (Nagisa Saito), an AD who had infiltrated the hostage situation.
Afterwards, Ibuki demands that Honjo (Kumi Takiuchi) bring Yashiro in to expose the true identity of the "puppet" who is manipulating everything behind the scenes. Honjo makes up his mind, but those around him are upset that Honjo, who is in charge of the scene, will be leaving.
At that moment, a voice called out from behind, "Honjo, go." When Musashi and the others turned around, they saw Izumi (Sonin), who had left the scene with serious injuries. In front of the shocked Musashi and the others, Shima (Gunpii) called out to Izumi, "Are you okay? You should still rest..." but Izumi dismissed it, saying, "That's not possible. I heard everything that happened." Izumi declared that he would take command of the scene and gave instructions to the investigators, then looked ahead with Musashi.
On social media, many people expressed joy at Izumi's "return." Comments included, "I'm so happy Izumi is back," "I almost cried when Izumi appeared," "I was so excited," "Her sudden return is heartwarming," "What a relief...," "I got goosebumps!", "This buddy is the best, after all," and "It has to be Izumi for Musashi!"
