It has been announced that the theatrical anime " Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc," a sequel to the TV anime "Chainsaw Man ," based on Tatsuki Fujimoto 's popular manga, will be screened at 12 theaters in five cities across Japan starting at midnight on September 19th, the day of its release. It has also been announced that the MX4D, 4DX, and Dolby Cinema versions will be screened from October 4th. In the MX4D and 4DX versions, the seats will move forward and backward, up and down, and there will be vibrations, scents, lighting, wind, and water splashes all synchronized with the main story. Poster visuals for the MX4D, 4DX, and Dolby Cinema versions featuring Chainsaw Man have also been released.
A stage greeting to commemorate the release will be held on September 20th, the day after the release date. Kikunosuke Toya, who plays Denji, Kusunoki Tomori, who plays Makima, Sakata Shogo, who plays Hayakawa Aki, Reina Ueda, who plays Reze, Uchida Yuya, who plays the Violent Demon, Uchida Maaya, who plays the Angel Devil, and Takahashi Karin, who plays Higashiyama Kobeni, will be appearing on stage. The stage greeting will be broadcast live to 346 theaters nationwide.
The "Reze" arc will tell the story of Reze and the main character, Denji, who also appeared at the end of the TV anime that aired from October to December 2022, and became a hot topic. While Denji is excited about a date with his crush, Makima, he takes shelter from the rain and meets Reze, a young girl who works at a cafe. The story is directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara, who served as the action director for the TV anime, and produced by MAPPA. Kenshi Yonezu will perform the theme song "IRIS OUT," and Yonezu and Hikaru Utada will perform the ending theme "JANE DOE," which has also been much talked about.
"Chainsaw Man" is a dark hero action story about a boy named Denji who is possessed by a demon and works as a devil hunter. Part 1 was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from December 2018 to December 2020. Part 2 has been serialized on Shueisha's manga app "Shonen Jump+" since July 2022.
