The opening day stage greeting for the film " Ani wo mochihakoberu saizu ni " (directed by Nakano Ryota), starring actor Ko Shibasaki , was held in Tokyo on November 28th, with Shibasaki, along with Joe Odagiri, Hikari Mitsushima, Aoyama Himeno, Ajimoto Yodai, and director Nakano, making an appearance.
The story is based on Murai Riko's non-fiction essay "My Brother's End." Riko (Shibasaki) receives a phone call from the police informing her of the death of her brother (Odagiri), whom she hasn't seen in years. Upon hearing that her brother's son, Ryoichi, who lived with him, is being temporarily taken into care by a child consultation center, Riko heads to Tohoku, determined to "quickly get my brother into a portable size." At the police station, she is reunited with her brother's ex-wife, Kanako (Mitsushima), and her daughter, Marina, for the first time in seven years, and busies herself with cleaning up the mess...
