Actor Nanoka Hara attended the stage greeting to commemorate the release of her starring movie "Mieruko-chan" (directed by Yoshihiro Nakamura, currently in theaters) held in Tokyo on June 7th. With a "ghost" dressed all in black lurking behind her, she revealed her confusion, saying, "I couldn't stop sweating."
On this day, the speakers introduced "spoiler-free talk" during the stage greeting after the screening. Hara said about "The Dinner Table," "It's a scene that makes you feel the love of family, and there are quite a few hints scattered throughout, like the way the characters look at each other at the dinner table, the position of the rice, the plates..." but then Director Nakamura rang the buzzer to end the talk.
Next, he was asked about his co-star Kenichi Takito, and as he said, "I was happy to work with him again," a spirit appeared behind him. As he shifted his position to avoid the spirit, he said, "This is the first time I've ever been in such a cold sweat during a stage greeting."
The movie is based on the horror comedy manga by Izumi Tomoki, which has sold over 3 million copies in Japan and was also made into a TV anime. One day, high school girl Yotsuya Miko (Hara) suddenly starts seeing spirits, and chooses to "ignore" them. Terrified of the fear of what might happen if the spirits realize she can see them, Miko continues to pretend to be calm and ignore them. However, when the shadow of a spirit creeps up on even her best friend, will Miko be able to continue ignoring the spirits? This is the story.
The event was also attended by Rinka Kumada, Nae Nano, Koki Yamashita, and Taiga Kyomoto from SixTONES.
