The final episode of the drama series "Good Things and Bad Things" (NTV, Saturdays at 9 PM), starring actors Mamiya Shotaro and Araki Yuko, aired on December 20th. In the episode, the true culprit behind the serial murders targeting Takagi Masaru's (Mamiya) classmates was revealed. The full details of the case were revealed, but Matsui (Akiya Ikuho), a new employee at Weekly Apollo who had previously exhibited suspicious behavior, was found to have no connection to the incidents, sparking a wave of confusion on social media.
◇The following contains spoilers.
In the final episode, the case seemed to have come to an end with the arrest of Utsumi (Subaru Kimura), the perpetrator of the series of murders, but Shinonome (Fukagawa Mai) wrote an article revealing the motive for the crimes and the current state of Takagi, the ringleader of the bullying. This led to Takagi's house being vandalized with graffiti, and his daughter Kanon (Miyazaki Ririsa) being harassed at school.
Meanwhile, Shinonome reveals to Sonoko (Araki) that she attended the same Takuto Academy as Seto Shion (Ohgo Suzuka), who committed suicide, and that she was a classmate of Seto, and that she will write a follow-up report calling for the elimination of bullying from the world.
Meanwhile, Takagi, noticing that the logos of Takuto Academy and the snack bar "Imakuni" are similar, questions Imakuni (Junki Tozuka). Imakuni reveals that he graduated from Takuto Academy, was a classmate of Seto, is a friend of Utsumi, and that he met Takagi by chance to trick him into coming to the bar. After telling him everything, Imakuni hands Takagi a gun and urges him to shoot him and become a hero, but Takagi is unable to do so and tearfully apologizes to Imakuni. Later, Takagi gives Sonoko an exclusive interview, where he confesses about his past bullying and his current feelings.
The full extent of the incident was revealed in the final episode, but a previous episode had depicted a scene in which Sonoko's junior colleague Matsui suddenly punched a panel of Sonoko that was displayed in the company, sparking a flurry of confusion on social media about Matsui, who had nothing to do with the incident. Comments included, "What was that panel Matsui about?", "It's such a mystery," "He's just a scary guy who was pissed off, but what on earth is he...?", "I wanted to find out the answer to the mystery of him punching Sonoko's panel," "So that junior guy was just a guy who was pissed off and had a complicated temper?", "What really caused Matsui to punch Sonoko's panel?", and "Is it correct to say he was a mentally unstable guy who loved Sonoko so much that it made things complicated?"
