The popular documentary variety show "Intimate! The Urushiyama Family: A Large Family of 15," which captures the daily life of a large family with 13 children, six boys and seven girls, will be broadcast for four consecutive weeks on Fuji TV starting from May 26th.
"Intimate! The Urushiyama Family: A Large Family of 15" is a documentary variety show that focuses on Mama Kazuki, who has 13 children (6 boys and 7 girls) and never compromises on housework or child-rearing, capturing the "difficulties" of a large family and the "happiness" that comes with being a large family. The show has been closely covered for nine years since 2016, and has been broadcast six times on terrestrial television. In March 2024, the show moved to FOD Premium, where season 2 (currently up to episode 8) is currently being distributed.
Last September, terrestrial broadcast (Fuji TV and others) revealed the condition of Mama Kazuki after undergoing surgery for a cerebral aneurysm in spring 2023. Various changes occur to the 13 children of the Urushiyama family, such as one child making a big decision and facing a turning point, thinking about Mama Kazuki's condition after the surgery, and another child working hard to pass exams toward his dream. The real image of the Urushiyama family, including Mama Kazuki's honest thoughts as she watches her children grow up, and Mama Kazuki and Papa Toru's first revelation of "why they became such a large family" in nine years of interviews, caused a stir.
This terrestrial broadcast will reveal what happened to Mama Kagetsu over the course of nine years, as well as a day in the life of Mama Kagetsu as she flawlessly handles the enormous amount of housework every day, and a "special day" in the Urushiyama household after the summer of 2024.
The eldest son's wife comes for the first time to the Urushiyama family's annual Halloween party. It's the first trip for Mama Kagetsu and Papa Toru, who have never gone on a trip together since getting married. There's also the Urushiyama family's first child's wedding, and the happy day of their eldest son, Aoi. Amidst a flurry of events, the program explores the chaotic drama that only a large family can have, Mama Kagetsu's determination to keep working hard no matter how busy she is, and the bond that only comes from growing up in a large family with 13 siblings.
"Close Up! The Urushiyama Family, a Big Family of 15" will be broadcast from 11:00 p.m. on May 26th, June 2nd, 9th, and 16th.
