The final episode (episode 10) of the TBS Sunday Theatre drama "The Royal Family" (Sunday 9pm) starring Satoshi Tsumabuki was broadcast on December 14th, and attention was drawn to the colour of the suit worn by Koichi (Ren Meguro) in his final Arima Kinen race.
In the final episode, Koichi's Royal Family, Nobuyuki's (Taishi Nakagawa) So Perfect, and Shiina's (Kazuki Sawamura) Rainbow Camp and Big Hope all competed in the Arima Kinen. Just when it seemed the Family had broken away and was on the verge of victory, Big Hope overtook them with an incredible finishing kick, forcing the Family to finish in second place.
The family had announced their retirement, but Koichi retracted that announcement. At the end of the show, it was revealed that the family, who decided to continue racing the following year, had won the Osaka Cup, the Tenno Sho Spring, the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, the Japan Cup, and the Arima Kinen. In the photo taken at the closing ceremony, Koichi was wearing the white suit that was Kozo's (Koichi Sato) trademark.
The drama's official account X (@royalfamily_tbs) posted an off-shot of Meguro, who played Koichi, with the caption, "Arima Kinen 2026," and "Wearing a white suit."
Comments on social media include, "It suits him so well," "It's the best!!!," "His appearance is reminiscent of Sanno Kozo," "Koichi has become so handsome," "He has a bit of his father Kozo in him," and "He's looking more like a horse owner."
