The trailer for the film "Specials" (directed by Eiji Uchida, scheduled for release on March 6, 2026), in which Daisuke Sakuma of the popular group "Snow Man" will star in his first solo role, has just been released.
The film is a completely original work conceived, written and directed by Director Uchida of "Midnight Swan" (released in 2020). A group of lone professional assassins of different ages and personalities are given a mission with an extremely high reward, but the only way to eliminate their "eccentric" target is to aim to win an unexpected dance competition. This is the story of a mismatched impromptu team with zero experience, zero cooperation and zero motivation as they take on a serious dance challenge.
Sakuma plays Dia, a legendary former assassin who normally works as a kind-hearted assistant at an orphanage. The five characters each carry their own personal thoughts as they embark on the mission. The five also play Kumashiro, the man who brought the assassins together for the mission and the No. 2 of the Kazama group, played by Shiina Kippei, Kiryu, a cool assassin who has been hurt in the past and hates to hang out with others, played by Nakamoto Yuta of "NCT," Shin, a hotheaded but compassionate assassin, played by Aoyagi Sho, and Murasame, a former militant who has fallen on hard times but is like a brother to Kumashiro, played by Ozawa Hitoshi.
The newly released trailer begins with a powerful car chase scene. While Dia (Sakuma) and others exchange gunfire, Kumashiro (Shiina) offers a 100 million yen reward to a group of top-tier assassins of all ages and personalities to "form a dance team." The mission is to assassinate the boss of the Honjo-kai (Ishibashi Renji), a leader of the underworld who, despite being a quirky man who always shows up at dance competitions in which his granddaughter competes.
The five, disguised in matching colored suits and afro hairstyles, can be seen dancing in a pop style, but when they arrive at the practice studio they're attending for the competition, they grab each other by the collar and start wrestling. Meanwhile, the assassins are seen being scolded by an elementary school girl who has become their dance teacher, who asks, "Are you serious?" The second half of the video features the five, who have rekindled their spirits and are working hard at dance practice, as well as taking to the stage in white suits, to the danceable, catchy beat of the theme song "Odorouse!" by Snow Man, which has just been released for the first time. In addition to the fierce gunfight onstage, the video also shows a girl who gets caught up in the action and the five people protecting her, creating a comical yet moving experience.
