The eighth episode of NHK's "Drama 10 'Convenience Store Brothers: Tenderness Mojiko Kogane Village Branch'" (NHK General, Tuesdays at 10 PM), starring Kento Nakajima, will air on June 16th. The subtitle for this episode is "The Cursed Store Manager: Hayashi Rice of Love and Tears."
"Convenience Store Brothers" is based on the novel of the same name by Sonoko Machida. It is a heartwarming and mysterious human comedy set in a convenience store in Mojiko, Kitakyushu City. Nakajima plays two roles: the protagonist, the "pheromone store manager" Mitsuhiko Shiwa, and his older brother, the "wild, anything-goes guy" Nihiko Shiwa.
In the eighth episode, one day, Shiwa Mitsuhiko (Nakajima) approaches Inui Ichiko (Manami Hashimoto), who is crying in Mojiko, and spends the day on a date with her, exploring Mojiko, as she is leaving the town that day. Waka (Uchida Sakurako) and Makio (Kitano Hideki) happen to see them, but Makio claims he cannot see her.
The next day, Shiwa was back at the store, but for some reason, her usual sparkle was gone. She was also making easy mistakes at work. Curious, Hikari (Rena Tanaka) asked Shiwa for details about her date with Ichiko the previous day...
