Former NMB48 idol group member Yuzuha Hongo will star in the vertical short drama "Girlfriend." The drama depicts Hana, a 26-year-old woman who is beautiful on the outside but has a weak sense of self, as she falls into love and is tossed about by various men and women, descending into hell. Hongo plays Hana. Kanami Takasaki, also known as the "invincible gravure idol," will appear as Juda, who drives Hana mad.
Hongo said, "When I first received this offer, I was worried whether I was really the right person for the role, but I decided to take on the role because I wanted to give it my all. Hana experiences a series of misfortunes in every episode, and when I was preparing for the role, I remember trying to avoid becoming too close to the people around me and making sure to spend as much time alone as possible. There were many scenes that were new to me, and I struggled a lot, but I did my best, so I would be happy if many people could watch it! Thank you!"
Takasaki commented, "Judah is a female street musician, and her bright, strong, and courageous appearance is impressive. However, as this is the first time I've played such a cool woman, I was worried that my high-pitched voice might get in the way. So when filming, I tried to lower my voice than usual and also consciously tried to bring out Judah's cheerful and bright personality. This time, I challenged myself to act out smoking a cigarette for the first time in my life, and I had absolutely no idea how to do it, so I did my best while being taught by the staff on set.
