It has been announced that a book introducing TV personality Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's personal belongings and other things she is crazy about and thinks are "nice!", titled "Tetsuko Kuroyanagi Visual Encyclopedia" (Kodansha), will be released on May 14th. The book will showcase all of Kuroyanagi's "curiosity" in one go, from the dresses, kimonos, shoes, bags, and accessories she has purchased and thought were "beautiful," "I like it," and "nice!", to ribbons, glass paperweights, tableware, and other items she collects as a hobby.
The book will also include a section that delves into the roots of Kuroyanagi's aesthetic sense, photos of her wearing a furisode kimono when she studied abroad in New York at the age of 38, and her collection of panda goods.
Kuroyanagi commented, "My intense longing for beautiful things probably stems from the fact that during the war, all of the items in our daily lives that enriched our souls were taken away from us. It is only because of peace and freedom that I am able to live a life surrounded by the things I love now. In other words, this book is a visualization of the curiosity I developed in times of peace."
