Moe Kawase, a talent who won the Newcomer Grand Prix and the Grand Prix at the Japan Race Queen Awards 2021 and is also known as the "legendary race queen," has collaborated with Ryo Tamura of the comedy duo "London Boots No. 1 and No. 2," who is known as a car enthusiast, on YouTube. Kawase welcomed Tamura into her beloved 1995 Honda Civic Coupe (first generation EJ1/2 model).
The two had previously appeared together on a radio program. Looking back on the recording, Kawase commented, "We used to work together on a radio program for a year, and since then I've told Ryo that I love vintage cars and that I wanted to get my own one someday, so I was very happy that my wish came true this time!"
Last year, Kawase-san changed her automatic transmission-only license to a regular driver's license in order to drive a manual car. "During the drive, he taught me driving techniques, and it was a valuable experience to experience the VTEC engine switching in my own car for the first time! Ryo-san was kind and always praised me as a beginner, so I was very happy and was able to enjoy driving even though I'm a beginner," she said.
During the project, he tried to open the hood but accidentally opened the trunk, and Tamura pointed out, "This has nothing to do with the manual!" However, he said, "Ryo showed me how to open it, so that was the first time I learned how to open the hood (laughs)."
