Actor Moka Kamishiraishi appeared as a guest at the Association for Promoting Advanced Broadcasting Services (A-PAB) press conference held in Tokyo on December 4th. Kamishiraishi, who serves as the MC of NHK's music program "The Covers" and also works as an artist under the name "adieu," was asked what song she would like to cover on the program in the future, and she replied, "Inoue Yosui's 'Riverside Hotel.' It's well-received when sung at karaoke, so I'd like Lily Franky (who is also the MC of the program) to hear it too."
At the press conference, Kamishiraishi spoke about the appeal of 4K, saying, "When you see beautiful images, it goes beyond the experience, it's like being immersed, you can step into that world and immerse yourself in it." When asked what she keeps in mind when taking on the challenge of 4K recording as an actor, she revealed, "With 4K images, everything looks clearer, and I think even the slightest movement of the eyes is conveyed better, so when I act, I try to build and express emotions that are as true as possible. I also put more effort into my makeup and hairstyle."
At the press conference, a campaign was introduced to celebrate the total number of devices capable of viewing 4K8K satellite broadcasting surpassing 20 million, called "Congratulations! Over 20 million units! Watch over 100 BS4K8K satellite broadcasts in December!! Let's watch campaign." This campaign is run by NHK and five commercial BS broadcasters (BS Nippon Television, BS Asahi, BS-TBS, BS TV Tokyo, BS Fuji), and each station will produce 10 programs that can only be viewed in 4K, with a total of over 100 programs being broadcast from December 13th to 22nd. Kamishiraishi will appear in "The Covers," which will be broadcast on NHK BS Premium 4K at 9pm on December 21st in a special program titled "The Covers'Fes.in Hiroshima."
It was also announced that "Shop Channel 4K," a shopping specialty channel that has been broadcast using the BS4K left-handed band, will be broadcast using BS4K right-handed band from April 1, 2025. The initiatives of BS10, which will be launched on January 10, 2025, were also introduced.
