Actor Sadao Abe appeared at the premiere preview and cast event for the drama "Shiawase na Kekkon" (TV Asahi, Thursdays 9pm), which begins on the 17th, held at EX THEATER ROPPONGI (Minato Ward, Tokyo) on July 14th, along with Takako Matsu, with whom he co-stars in the role of a married couple for the first time in about 10 years.
In response to a question from a fan asking him what he has been obsessed with lately, Abe revealed, "I gave Matsu a DVD of my favorite character, and now it's been passed around to the staff as well," and said that he has been lending him the DVD of the drama "Isobē Isobe-e Monogatari ~Ukiyo wa Tsurai yo~" (WOWOW, 2024), starring his co-star Yosuke Sugino .
Matsu said, "It's been a while since I laughed out loud. I was glued to the screen (laughs)." Sugino himself replied with a wry smile, "To be honest, I really didn't want to do it... (laughs). Matsu was dancing along with me on set."
The drama is an original work by Shizuka Oishi , who also wrote the popular NHK Taiga drama " Dear Radiance (Hikaru Kimi e) " last year. The story is about a bachelor lawyer, Harada Kotaro (Abe), who is attracted to and marries a mysterious high school art teacher, Suzuki Nerla (Matsu), but Nerla is hiding a huge secret... This is a story that questions the love between a husband and wife.
Rihito Itagaki, Takashi Okabe, and Danta Yasunori also appeared at the event.
