The episode visual for episode 27, "The Universe is Written in the Language of Mathematics," of "Dr.STONE SCIENCE FUTURE," the fourth and final season of the TV anime "Dr.STONE," which is based on the manga serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), has been released. The visual shows Ryusui Nanami, who has come to a distant land in search of his brother, standing back to back with SAI, the genius mathematician and older brother of Ryusui Nanami, who was newly introduced in episode 27 which will air on April 16th. The caption reads, "A scientific reunion. The brothers' moment begins to move."
In episode 27, Senku and his friends travel to India in search of SAI, a person essential for rocket building who is said to possess the brains of a million people. Under Ryusui's instructions, they find and awaken SAI, but as soon as SAI sees Ryusui's face, he runs away. It turns out that the two are brothers, and Ryusui has been searching for SAI since childhood, but SAI rejects him, saying that a programmer in a world without computers can do nothing... The episode's visual depicts how the brothers, reunited by science, have their stagnant time started moving again.
"Dr.STONE" is a manga series written by Riichiro Inagaki of "Eyeshield 21" fame, with artwork by Boichi of "Sun-Ken Rock" and "ORIGIN" fame. It was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from March 2017 to March 2022. The story follows Senku Ishigami, a science-loving boy with a superhuman intellect, who awakens after thousands of years when all of humanity is instantly petrified by a mysterious phenomenon. In this desperate situation, he decides to find his friends and reclaim the world. Senku uses science to try and rebuild civilization from scratch. The manga has sold over 20 million copies in total.
The first season of the TV anime aired from July to December 2019, the second season from January to March 2021, the TV special "Dr.STONE Ryusui" aired in July 2022, the first cour of the third season aired from April to June 2023, and the second cour from October to December of the same year. The final season was split into three cours, with the first cour airing from January to March 2025 and the second cour from July to September of the same year. The third and final cour of the anime is currently airing on TOKYO MX and other channels.
