It has been announced that "Tetsujin 28-go," a robot anime that originated in the early days of Japanese television animation, will be released on Blu-ray Disc (BD) for the first time, more than 60 years after its initial broadcast. All 97 episodes, including the origin story, will be released on BD.
"Memories of Anime Library Vol. 150: Tetsujin 28-go <1963 Version> Blu-ray Vol. 1," which includes episodes 1-47 of the first season and the origin story, will be released on June 26th, and "Memories of Anime Library Vol. 150: Tetsujin 28-go <1963 Version> Blu-ray Vol. 2," which includes episodes 48-83 of the first season and episodes 1-13 of the second season, will be released on July 31st.
"Tetsujin 28-go" is an anime series that aired on Fuji TV from October 20, 1963 to November 24, 1965. It depicts the exploits of Tetsujin 28-go, a giant robot created by Dr. Kaneda at the request of the former Japanese military, as he fights for justice and peace.
