A press conference was held for the 23rd installment of the popular anime series "Pretty Cure," "Detective Pretty Cure!", and Kaede Hondo, who plays Cure Mystic/Kobayashi Mikuru, appeared. Hondo said, "It would be amazing if I could be involved in Pretty Cure, but I thought it was a bit much... It doesn't really feel real, it feels like a dream," and enthusiastically added, "My parents are really happy for me, so I'll be more motivated and do my best."
Kobayashi Mikuru, played by Hondo, is clumsy but straightforward. She has a wealth of detective knowledge, works harder than anyone, and is the type to think things through rather than rely on intuition to find answers. She loves cute things more than anything. She transforms into Cure Mystic, saying, "Jump into a smile with layered deductions! Great detective Cure Mystic!"
Regarding the character she plays, Cure Mystic/Kobayashi Mikuru, Motodo said, "I'm the type of person who thinks carefully before I act. I knew exactly what she was thinking, and that's what I was thinking from the time of the audition. She loves cute things. Her passion for becoming Detective PreCure, which has always been her dream, is what gives her power, and she shows off a variety of different expressions, so I hope you'll come and see her."
Also appearing at the press conference were Senga Hikari, who plays Cure Answer/Akechi Anna, Nao Toyama, who plays Cure Arcana Shadow/Mori Aruru, and the comedy duo Cotton.
The motif of "Detective PreCure!" is "detectives," and the theme is "see, feel, think, and find the 'true' answer for yourself." The main characters are girls who work as detectives with the desire to "help people in trouble," and are guided by a mysterious power to travel back in time from the present day of 2027 to 1999. The story transcends time and depicts the Pretty Cure's new encounters, friendships, and growth. It will be broadcast every Sunday at 8:30 a.m. on ABC TV and TV Asahi from February 1st.
