A press conference was held for the 23rd installment of the popular anime "PreCure" series, "Detective PreCure!", and Nao Toyama, who plays Cure Arcana Shadow/Mori Aruru, appeared. Toyama, who also played the fairy Puff in the 12th installment, "Go! Princess PreCure," which aired from 2015 to 2016, expressed her joy, saying, "I played the fairy Puff 10 years ago, and watching the PreCure girls work hard from the sidelines, I felt inspired and inspired to do my best. I never thought I'd be returning to the series as a PreCure, so I'm really happy."
Higashiyama plays Moria Ruka, a mysterious girl who, despite being a Pretty Cure, for some reason works as a member of the Phantom Thieves. She has a laid-back and unconventional personality and doesn't say much, but she actually has a passionate heart inside her. Her favorite food is ice cream. She transforms into Cure Arcana Shadow, saying, "I'm Cure Arcana Shadow, wrapped in mystery and secrecy!"
Regarding the character she plays, Cure Arcana Shadow/Mori Aruru, she said, "I'm the complete opposite of her, as I look very passionate." She added, "There's still a lot of mystery surrounding her. Why is she on the enemy side? It's rare even among all the previous Pretty Cures. I hope you'll watch and wonder what she's thinking."
Also appearing at the press conference were Kaede Hondo, who plays Cure Answer/Akechi Anna, Hondo Kaede, who plays Cure Mystic/Kobayashi Mikuru, and the comedy duo Cotton.
The motif of "Detective PreCure!" is "detectives," and the theme is "see, feel, think, and find the 'true' answer for yourself." The main characters are girls who work as detectives with the desire to "help people in trouble," and are guided by a mysterious power to travel back in time from the present day of 2027 to 1999. The story transcends time and depicts the Pretty Cure's new encounters, friendships, and growth. It will be broadcast every Sunday at 8:30 a.m. on ABC TV and TV Asahi from February 1st.
