New cast members for the 2026 second-half NHK Asadora drama "Blossom, " starring Shizuka Ishibashi , were announced on June 18th. The siblings of the protagonist, Tama Hano (Ishibashi), will be played by Wataru Hinata as her younger brother Mamoru, Aoi Ito as her younger sister Toshiko, and Daisuke Fujiwara as her younger brother Hideo.
Mamoru is the eldest son of the Hano family. He is devoted to his family and his sister, and has an exceptionally strong sense of responsibility. This is Hinata's first appearance in a Asadora .
Toshiko is the second daughter of the Hano family. She works at a factory to help support the family. She admires Tama and is inspired by her way of life. This will be Ito's first appearance in a Asadora since " Okaeri Mone " (first half of 2021).
Hideo is the second son of the Hano family. He is a sweet and obedient youngest child who is loved by his family. This is Fujiwara's first appearance in a Asadora.
Producer Shunpei Murayama commented, "The younger siblings who used to call Tama 'big sister' have grown up in Iwakuni and will reappear before her, each grappling with various conflicts. For the writer Tama Hano, the reunion with her younger siblings will lead to a new stage in her life. The entire staff is looking forward to working with these fresh and passionate actors, Mr. Hinata, Mr. Ito, and Mr. Fujiwara, on set as soon as possible."
"Blossom" is a story modeled after Chiyo Uno, a writer who lived through the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa eras and constantly sought freedom. The protagonist, Tama Hano, leaves her hometown of Iwakuni, Yamaguchi, and, through encounters with fascinating people, pursues her dreams and plunges into the turbulent times of the Taisho and Showa eras. The screenplay is written by Tsuyoshi Sakurai and Yoshiko Komatsu, known for their work on "Your Things Are Here" and "Boogie Woogie."

I've always dreamed of appearing in a serial television drama since I started this job, and I've finally been able to fulfill that dream with "Blossom."
The character I will be playing, Mamoru Hano, grew up watching Tama's back from a young age. While being protected by her, he also worries about Tama's safety and strives to protect his family. He is a strong character full of family love. Just like his name "Mamoru" (守), he possesses a gentle nature that embraces those he loves, and I will do my best to portray him as someone who can provide a sense of security at times!

I'm Fujiwara Daisuke, and I'll be playing Hideo, Tama's younger brother and the youngest of four brothers. I played the eldest son in the NHK night drama "The Four Brothers of the Yuzuki Family," so I feel a certain connection to the idea of four brothers.
