TBS's new announcers, Narumi Tada, Ema Burns, and Gen Fujioka, made their debut on the network's information programs "THE TIME' (The Time Dash)" (Monday-Friday, 4:30 AM) and "THE TIME," (Monday-Friday, 5:20 AM). We asked announcer Tada about her thoughts on her debut and her goals for the future.
Tada was born on June 24, 2003, and is from Tokyo. She graduated from the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences at Japan Women's University. Her hobbies include watching sumo wrestling, dancing, cooking, reading, and film photography.
"Since the show started in 2021, 'THE TIME' has been a favorite program for my whole family and has always given us energy. I am very honored to have been given the opportunity to appear on such a program," she said with a smile, expressing her delight at being selected. She said that Shinichiro Azumi Azumi advised her to "just be energetic, and it's okay to make mistakes since you're a newcomer," and she reflected on her debut, saying, "I decided to do my best with energy without being afraid of making mistakes."
She revealed that she "cried" when she received the job offer from TBS, adding, "The first thing I did was contact my father. He loves TBS radio, and he had said he wanted to 'see and hear' me working on the radio if I joined TBS, so he was very happy. I really felt his love."
Having a younger brother who is six years younger than her, she says, "I'm interested in the field of education." "Because there's a bit of an age gap between us, I've grown to love interacting with children. I've had opportunities to interact with children through my part-time jobs, and I'd love to try my hand at something like an educational program," she said.
When asked about her favorite announcer, she said, "There are so many, it's hard to narrow it down," but added, "I've admired announcer Maoko Hibi ever since I took the announcer exam. She's great at managing the atmosphere, even outside of the program. She's considerate of all the guests, and she makes the right decisions to move on to the next topic at the right time in each segment. I think that's really cool."
Addressing the viewers, she said with her signature smile, "I think my charm point is my smile. I may still have some shortcomings in terms of technique, but I will never forget to smile, and I hope to be a part of bringing a wonderful morning to everyone."
