A press conference was held for the 23rd installment of the popular anime series "Pretty Cure," "Detective Pretty Cure!", and Senga Hikari, who plays Cure Answer/Akechi Anna, appeared. Senga, a new voice actress who was selected to play the role of Pretty Cure, revealed her thoughts, saying, "I've been watching it since I was little, and I used to play Pretty Cure in kindergarten, and since my name is Hikari, I used to imitate Hikari from ' Futari wa Pretty Cure wa Pretty Cure Max Heart.' I was so moved that tears started flowing. My mother was also in tears of joy."
Akechi Anna, played by Senga, is a 14-year-old second-year junior high school student living in Makoto Mirai Town. Guided by a fairy named Pochitan who appears on her birthday and a pendant in her room, she travels back in time from 2027 to 1999 in Makoto Mirai City. There, she meets Kobayashi Mikuru, a 14-year-old girl who dreams of becoming a great detective. When someone is in trouble after having something important stolen by the Phantom Thieves, Anna and Mikuru transform into the great detective PreCure, determined not to let someone in trouble slip away. They solve the mystery, saying, "That mystery! Cure, solve it!"
Senga said, "Anna is an honest, kind, and straightforward girl. Rather than taking the lead and pulling everyone along, she stands next to them, holding their hands and supporting them. I hope you will pay attention to how she grows together with Mikuru and Arcana."
Also appearing at the press conference were Nao Toyama , who plays Cure Mystic/Kobayashi Mikuru, Kaede Hondo Nao, who plays Cure Arcana Shadow/Mori Aruru, and the comedy duo Cotton.
The motif of "Detective PreCure!" is "detectives," and the theme is "see, feel, think, and find the 'true' answer for yourself." The main characters are girls who work as detectives with the desire to "help people in trouble," and are guided by a mysterious power to travel back in time from the present day of 2027 to 1999. The story transcends time and depicts the Pretty Cure's new encounters, friendships, and growth. It will be broadcast every Sunday at 8:30 a.m. on ABC TV and TV Asahi from February 1st.
