Model Ogura Yuka was interviewed for the BUMP original drama "The Ashamed Cinderellas' Great Marriage War" held in Tokyo on January 21st. "It hasn't been announced yet, but I've decided to join an agency," she revealed, and spoke of her dedication to her acting career.
Ogura, who is returning to acting for the first time in about five years with this work, said of the past five years, "I'm not a company employee, but I have had experience working behind the scenes. After that, I thought that a job that puts me in the spotlight would suit me, so I decided to resume acting full-time."
Regarding his "behind the scenes work," he recalled, "I was making food and beverage products, wholesaling them, things like that. I was really bad at numbers, documents, and sales emails, so I thought I didn't want to do it anymore (laughs)."
Regarding her future plans, she said, "There are some secrets, but broadly speaking, I would like to advance overseas as an actor." She continued, "I think boys' love is popular in Japan, so I would like to try a girls' version of that, girls' love. There are famous Chinese and Thai works that I like, so if there are any works like that, I would like to try my hand."
The drama is a romantic comedy about a former popular girl from Minato Ward who is on the brink of disaster in life, who rushes into the "battlefield" of a matchmaking party in order to seize the marriage of her dreams, and engages in a battle for a prince.
Ogura has been gaining attention as a "beautiful woman with an 8-head body ratio," and last year she made headlines for appearing on variety shows and returning to gravure modeling after a five-year hiatus. In this drama, she plays Kagawa Nana, a former Minato Ward girl who was once known as the "Archangel of Minato Ward," but who is now in dire straits after turning 30 and being abandoned by her "daddy." There are 21 episodes, each about three minutes long. The drama will be available on the short drama streaming service "BUMP" from 7:00 PM on January 21st.
