BS12 TwellV's program "Funakoshi Eiichiro's Showa Regeneration Factory" will broadcast "(Sequel) The Miraculous Story of a Man and a Horse Connected by Meisho!" from 9:00 p.m. on December 18th.
The program featured the hard-working Showa-era jockey Mamoru Ishibashi, who met Maysho Samson and won the Japanese Derby in March 2024. The program featured interviews with the horse's owner, Yoshio Matsumoto, and the story of the horse's transition to jockey Yutaka Take, highlighting the bond between man and horse.
This time, as a sequel to that story, we will relive the behind-the-scenes story of Meisho Tabaru's first G1 victory at the Takarazuka Kinen, held in June of this year. We will interview jockey Yutaka Take, trainer Mamoru Ishibashi, assistant trainer Mitsuo Kamigoshi, and Mishima Farm in Urakawa, Hokkaido, where the horse was bred, and will present not only footage of the race but also rare footage filmed by horse racing fans.
On August 29, 2025, Meisho Matsumoto, the owner of the JRA, passed away just after achieving the remarkable feat of 2,000 wins as an individual owner of a JRA racehorse. What thoughts did he leave behind? The story of another miracle woven by "Team Meisho" and the bond between man and horse will be revealed.
