The 56th episode of the NHK morning drama " Bakebake " starring Akari Takaishi (General TV, Monday to Saturday 8:00 AM and others) was broadcast on December 15th. In the episode, Toki (Takaishi) visits Daiouji Temple with Heaven ( Tommy Bastow ) and is delighted by a "proposal" from the head priest (Masato Ibu), which caught the attention of viewers.
In episode 56, Heaven has been experiencing sleep paralysis for days. Toki urges Heaven to have an exorcism performed, but he has difficulty communicating in Japanese. Nishikori (played by Ryo Yoshizawa) also avoids Heaven for some reason and refuses to come to pick her up, leaving Toki helpless. However, a few days later, Nishikori visits Toki before she goes to work.
Heaven is intrigued when Toki relays the English explanation of the exorcism that Nishikori told him. Toki heads out to perform the exorcism with Masaki (Yukito Hidaka), who has been asked to act as an interpreter for Heaven and Nishikori. Watching the exorcism from behind, Toki can't hide his excitement as he exclaims, "Amazing..." with shining eyes.
When the head priest finishes reading the sutra, Heaven rejoices, saying, "Oh, that's interesting." When Heaven praises the temple for being wonderful, the head priest asks, "Since you like it so much...would you like to tell me an interesting story?" "There's a ghost story that's been passed down in our temple."
Toki, who loves ghost stories, couldn't help but exclaim, "What!?" When Masaki explained that ghost stories are stories about ghosts, Heaven bowed her head and said, "Please!" When the head priest tried to lead them towards the cemetery, Toki, unable to contain his excitement, grinned to himself, savoring his joy.
On social media, people were saying things like, "Toki gets more excited than anyone at the temple lol," "Toki-chan in the background is always funny lol," "Toki-chan is like, 'A ghost story is coming,'" "Her geeky gestures are the best," "Toki-chan's eyes sparkle when she tells a ghost story, it's so cute," "Akari Takaishi's comedic acting was so superb it brought tears to my eyes."
