The drama "When I Was Young, There Was a God" (Fuji TV, Thursdays at 10pm) starring actor Yukiya Kitamura and co-starring Yukie Nakama has released the synopsis and stills for the second episode, which will be broadcast on October 16th.
On a typhoon night, the three families living in "Twilight States" gather at the Ogura home on the third floor and spend the night together, getting to know each other. That night, Ogura An (Nakama) confesses to her husband Wataru (Kitamura) that they are still committed to a past promise to divorce when their child turns 20.
Her son Jun (Nozomu Kotaki) is already over 20 years old, and her daughter Yuzu (Hana Kondo) has only 54 days until she turns 20. Wataru argues with Ann, and an argument is about to break out.
Wataru and Ann leave the house and get into their car so that Yuzu, who is asleep, won't notice. Seeing them, Higuchi Nao (Karin Ono) and Takamura Shiho (Anna Ishii), who live on the second floor, and Nagashima Shinichi (Kusakari Masao) and Satoko (Agawa Sawako), who live on the first floor, realize that they are going to have a fight.
Wataru and Ann park their car at their favorite car wash and begin arguing without any reservations. Despite their argument, they cooperate to wash the car, but...
Meanwhile, Nao and Shiho go out for a late-night walk. While walking a different route than usual, they come across a food truck for sale at a recycle shop. The two, who dream of opening a food truck restaurant, feel that it is fate to come across the ideal vehicle, but it is far beyond their reach.
The next day, when Wataru finds out that Yuzu is going out at night, and not wanting to be alone with An, he asks Shinichi for a favor...
The drama is an original work by screenwriter Yoshikazu Okada, known for the "Second to Last Love" series. It is a home comedy about three families living in a retro apartment building, with Kitamura and Nakama playing a married couple. This is Kitamura's first lead role in a prime-time terrestrial TV drama.
