The final of "King of Conte 2025," which will decide the best comedy sketch in Japan this year, was broadcast live on TBS from 6:30 pm on October 11th, and "Long Coat Daddy" was crowned the 18th King, topping 3,449 groups.
Long Coat Daddy was formed in 2009 by the duo Domae Toru and Usagi. This was their fourth time in two years to reach the finals, and they took the crown with a total of 945 points, scoring 474 points in the first stage and 471 points in the final.
The 10 groups that advanced to the finals out of a record 3,449 groups were Shizuru, Long Coat Daddy, Fire Thunder, Ultra Boogies, Yadan, Aoi No. 1, Bernardo, Ganso Ichigo-chan, Tom Browne, and Rainbow.
Shizuru made it to the finals for the fifth time in nine years, Long Coat Daddy for the fourth time in two years, Fire Thunder for the third time in three years, Ultra Buggies for the fourth time in four years, and Yadan for the fourth time in four years. Five groups made their first appearance: Aoi Ichigo, Bernardo, Ganso Ichigo-chan, Tom Brown, and Rainbow.
The three groups that advanced to the finals were "Long Coat Daddy," "Yadan," and "Rainbow."
