It has been announced that the album "Symphonic Suite Space Battleship Yamato," composed by the late Yasuo Miyagawa for the TV anime "Space Battleship Yamato," will be newly mixed and released on December 25th as "YAMATO SOUND ALMANAC 50th PREMIUM Symphonic Suite Space Battleship Yamato 2024mix/Yamato Miyagawa."
"Symphonic Suite Space Battleship Yamato" is an album based on the soundtrack of the TV anime "Space Battleship Yamato" broadcast in 1974, arranged for a full orchestra by composer Yasuo Miyagawa. The record released on December 25, 1977 was a huge hit and is also known as "the monumental achievement of anime soundtracks."
"YAMATO SOUND ALMANAC 50th PREMIUM Symphonic Suite Space Battleship Yamato 2024mix/Yamato Miyagawa" is a 16-channel original multi-tape mix made with the latest technology to commemorate the 50th anniversary of "Space Battleship Yamato." The lineup will include CD, record, regular streaming, high-resolution streaming, and spatial audio. Mixing was done by Shiozawa Toshiyasu, LP cutting engineer Takezawa Shigeru, and CD mastering by Yamashita Yumiko.
A record of "Symphonic Suite Space Battleship Yamato 2202," produced by Miyagawa Yasushi's son and composer Miyagawa Akira, will also be released on December 25th.
