On December 4th, it was revealed that a new project, the "REBOOT Project," will be launched for the anime "World Trigger," based on Daisuke Ashihara's popular manga. A teaser visual was released, depicting Kuga Yuma equipped with a Black Trigger and diving forward in a corner of the city at dusk. Details of the project have not been revealed, but new information will be announced on the Super Stage at "Jump Festa 2026," to be held at Makuhari Messe (Mihama Ward, Chiba City) on December 20th.
A special trailer for the new project was also released on YouTube. As the warning announcement of a "gate appearing" rang out, the "World Trigger" logo and the word "REBOOT" appeared on screen, and the screen changed to show the catchphrase "A gate from another dimension appears again." At the end, a message was displayed announcing a new development in the anime series: "The REBOOT Project has begun."
Following the announcement of the new project, the official website was revamped, and it was also announced that an official TikTok account for the anime will be launched.
"World Trigger" began serialization in February 2013 in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha). It depicts the battle between the Neighbors, who come from another dimension to invade "this world," and the defense organization Border. It is currently being serialized in "Jump SQ." (Shueisha).
The first season of the TV anime aired from October 2014 to April 2016, the second season from January to April 2021, and the third season from October 2021 to January 2022.
