It has been revealed that the new "Winter Arc" of the anime " Undead Unluck ," based on the manga by Yoshifumi Tozuka that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), will be broadcast on MBS and TBS on December 25th. New cast members have also been announced, including Kensho Ono as Terror, Billy's friend in the Underworld, and Takehito Koyasu drawn by the original author Tozuka.
Ono commented, "I think Teller is a man with a strong sense of justice and who cares about his friends. I will do my best to play him as a man that Billy can trust, having been with him since his days as a mercenary. I am very honored to be able to take part in this special one-hour episode! I hope everyone will support me!"
Koyasu, who plays the unidentified monster Balance, who has an impressive scale motif, said, "I am very honored to be able to take part in ' Undead Unluck .' Balance is an original character for this film, so I'm sure fans are excited to see how he will perform, and I'm looking forward to it too. I'm looking forward to seeing Balance flying around the screen wildly and causing trouble. Be sure to watch."
The "Winter Arc" will be broadcast as a one-hour special. It will be directed and storyboarded by Sunghoo Park , who has worked on the first season of the TV anime " Jujutsu Kaisen" and "Jujutsu Kaisen 0 ." It will be produced by E&H Production, led by Park.
" Undead Unluck" began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in January 2020, and its final chapter aired in January 2025, bringing the series to a close after nearly five years of serialization. The story follows the unusual buddy duo of Fuko, a girl with the power of unluck (bad luck) who has prepared herself for death, and Andy, a man with the power of immortality (undead) who seeks death, as they confront numerous enemies and the mysteries of the world. It also garnered attention after winning first place in the comics category of the Next Manga Awards 2020.
The TV anime was broadcast on the late-night anime slot "Super Animeism" on MBS/TBS from October 2023 to March 2024.
