Actress Midoriko Kimura appeared on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which aired on December 10th, and spoke about her relationship with her husband, playwright Nozomi Makino.
Kimura said that he and Makino are "still living together as usual." Tetsuko asked him, "You said that you divorced once and then got married again, right?" Kimura replied with a laugh, "That's right. If we did it three times, people would get angry, so we're living happily together now."
She first met Makino at Doshisha University. "When I entered university, a friend took me to see a play, and (Makino) was there as a senior who was two years older than me. We've been making plays together ever since, and we've been in a theater company for a long time," she recalled.
Makino says her "interests" haven't changed since then. "My interests change all the time, but (Makino) has always worn Beatles T-shirts, and has always listened to, played, and sang the Beatles, and nothing has changed since she was a student. Her tastes have stayed the same. But they really haven't changed, and sometimes I think that's amazing," she said.
