The teaser visual for the new "Winter Arc" of the anime " Undead Unluck, " based on the manga by Yoshifumi Tozuka that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), was released on August 1st. It depicts Juice wielding a flaming saber and Billy wielding a revolver, along with the tagline "Betrayal and Justice." A teaser PV featuring the latest footage from the "Winter Arc" was also released on YouTube. The new information was announced on August 1st, the anniversary of the day Andy and Fuko first met in the series.
The staff working on the "Winter Arc" have also been announced. Sunghoo Park , who has worked on the first season of the TV anime " Jujutsu Kaisen" and "Jujutsu Kaisen 0, " will serve as director and storyboard artist. The series will be produced by E&H Production, led by Park. The "Winter Arc" will be a one-hour special that will air in the winter of 2025.
" Undead Unluck" began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in January 2020, and its final chapter aired in January 2025, bringing the series to a close after nearly five years of serialization. The story follows the unusual buddy duo of Fuko, a girl with the power of unluck (bad luck) who has prepared herself for death, and Andy, a man with the power of immortality (undead) who seeks death, as they confront numerous enemies and the mysteries of the world. It also garnered attention after winning first place in the comics category of the Next Manga Awards 2020.
The TV anime was broadcast on the late-night anime slot "Super Animeism" on MBS/TBS from October 2023 to March 2024.
