The first main PV for the TV anime "My Status As an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero's(My Status As an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero's)," based on the light novel by Akai Matsuri of Overlap Bunko, has been released on YouTube. The story revolves around a boy named Oda Akira who is summoned to another world and gains the ability of an ordinary assassin, easily surpassing the status value of the hero, the strongest profession... The PV shows Akira fighting monsters and aiming for the top, as well as his encounter with the elf girl Amelia.
Additional cast members were announced, including Sanae Kobayashi, Yoshimi Tamura, and Junichi Suwabe. Kobayashi will play Yoru, a monster in the form of a black cat that Akira encounters in the labyrinth; Tamura will play Lea Lagoon, a mysterious girl who knows the secret behind why Akira and his friends were summoned to another world; and Suwabe will play Saran Misrey, the leader of the Knights of the Kingdom of Laitis, where Akira was summoned. It was also announced that the virtual girl duo "VESPERBELL" will perform the opening theme "Issen".
Kobayashi commented, "I am captivated by Akira's demeanor and Amelia's cuteness. I can't wait to see what expressions and actions the characters will show in the animation, and how the story will unfold amid the beautiful scenery of another world where imagination is limitless! I will be voicing Yoru. I find it difficult to link the role to the cat's appearance, but I am excited every time I play this interesting role. Be sure to check it out!!"
Tamura said, "When I was reading the details of the character Lia during the audition, I saw the sentence, 'Once she starts running, she can't stop, and if she sees someone in trouble, she will immediately go to help,' and I thought she was a girl with a straightforward sense of justice who loses sight of what's going on around her. I hope people will also pay attention to Lia, who grows little by little as she interacts with Akira and the others."
Suwabe commented, "He is a handsome man with beautiful features who is the commander of the Knights. He is also strong. What role does he play in this story? I hope you will watch it. Thank you very much."

The story is about a high school student, Akira Oda, who is summoned to another world with his classmates. Because he has a low presence, he should have gained the power of an ordinary assassin, but his status value easily exceeds that of the strongest profession, the hero... Akira is falsely accused and takes refuge in the depths of a labyrinth, where he meets a beautiful elf girl, Amelia, and becomes a true assassin.
The anime will be directed by Nobuyoshi Habara, known for "Fafner in the Fafner in the Azure," and produced by Sunrise. Voice actors Takeo Otsuka and Saku Mizuno will play Akira Oda and Amelia Rose Quartz, respectively. It will be broadcast on TV Tokyo and other networks from October.
