The second episode of the NHK BS period drama "Fuurai Gumo," starring actor Kuranosuke Sasaki, will be broadcast on January 11th. The subtitle of the episode is "Ryoma Has Come." Fuurai Gumo (played by Sasaki) happens to meet Sakamoto Ryoma (played by Yuma Nakayama) at an izakaya bar, where they hit it off. After leaving the bar, Ryoma is attacked by an assassin, but Fuurai Gumo saves him.
"Fuurai Gumo" is a period drama based on the manga of the same name by George Akiyama. The setting is Shinagawa-shuku at the end of the Edo period. Fuurai Gumo is an eccentric man who wears a woman's kimono and has his hair tied in front of his forehead. With a fluffy and elusive appearance, he lives his days freely, but before you know it, he gently changes the destinies of others. This is a hymn to humanity filled with laughter and tears.
Kana Kurashina plays Kame, the wife of Furubumi Kumo, a generous and charming woman who embraces Kumo with deep affection, while Eito Kawahara plays their son Shinnosuke, who is serious but also has a childlike side. Other cast members include Issey Ogata Ogata, Gota Watanabe, Naomasa Rokuhei, Tomoya Maeno, and Noriko Nakagoshi.
In the second episode, Sakamoto Ryoma arrives at Shinagawa-juku, and Kame (Kurashina), Shinnosuke (Kawahara), and Aota Sensei (Watanabe) are excited.
At O-Rin's (Nakagoe-san) izakaya "Chottoko," Fuuragumo and Ryoma happen to be there, and they hit it off and go for a drink. However, after leaving the bar, Fuuragumo rescues Ryoma from an assassin, and begins to feel uneasy about Ryoma's future. Meanwhile, influenced by Ryoma, Shinnosuke runs away from home with his best friend Kotaro (Murakami Akiga), who has decided to study Dutch studies in Osaka...
