It has been revealed that Sheena Ringo will be performing the theme song for Fuji TV's July Thursday drama "Last Note" (Thursdays at 10 PM), which stars actress Yuki Uchida and Takuto Teranishi of the popular group "timelesz". The song, titled "Hadaka" (Naked), was written specifically for this drama and will be her first theme song for a Thursday drama as a solo artist.
"Last Note" is the latest work from producer Reiko Misao, who has worked on "Hirugao: Love Affairs in the Afternoon" and "Even If You Don't Do It For Me," and is a love story written by Tomomi Matoba, who has worked on popular marriage suspense dramas such as " Otto yo, shinde kurenai ka?" (TV Tokyo). The story follows Aoi Ichise (played by Uchida), a 49-year-old woman who lives a life of maintaining the status quo after marriage, divorce, and setbacks at work, and Sumiharu Higuchi (played by Teranishi), a 30-year-old man who has given up on his dreams and lives a life of suppressing his true self. The two meet by chance, and are repeatedly hit by insurmountable obstacles such as a nearly 20-year age difference and various interpersonal relationships, but they are irresistibly drawn to each other...
The theme song, "Naked," is a new song for which Shiina wrote the lyrics and composed and arranged the music. It is said to be a song in which the band sound and Shiina's raw, unadorned narration are in constant tension, and it will be unveiled during the first broadcast on July Getsuku.
◇Producer Reiko Misao (Fuji Television Drama & Film Production Center)
I feel incredibly honored that Sheena Ringo, whose music has captivated my heart for so long, has written the theme song for us. The main characters, who had almost given up on life, fall in love again and try to move forward—when the emotions they have kept suppressed and sealed inside their hearts begin to overflow, Shiina's song becomes the engine, accompanying and powerfully coloring the world of "Last Note"...it's a truly wonderful song.
We hope that this drama will touch the hearts of many people. Please look forward to the first broadcast.
