"Bura Tamori" (NHK General TV, Saturday 7:30 pm) is a popular variety show in which the entertainer Tamori visits various towns. On June 28th, the show will be set on the Oyama Kaido road, and will explore the appeal of the Oyama pilgrimage, which became a huge hit among stylish Edokko.
On this day, the journey begins from Shibuya, Tokyo, and heads to Oyama Afuri Shrine in Isehara City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
On a double-decker bus tour, Tamori feels like a traveler in Edo, visiting a temple lodging at the foot of Mt. Oyama that has been in operation since the Edo period. He also enjoys the local specialty, Oyama tofu. What was born out of the competition for appearances between Edokko, and who was the driving force behind this huge boom?
Tamori's travel partner will be NHK Hiroshima announcer Mana Sato, and the narration will be provided by singer-songwriter Aimyon.
