A new trailer has been released for the original anime "Super Kaguyahime!", the first feature-length directorial work by Seigo Yamashita, who has worked on the opening videos for popular series such as the first season of the TV anime " Chainsaw Man " and "Chainsaw Man." The work is a "music anime" with a story inspired by the classic "The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter," and has been attracting attention for featuring music from a number of renowned Vocaloid producers. The trailer features the debut of "Moment, Symphony.", a song written by 40mP. Another visual depicting Kaguya and Ayaha in the real world has also been released.
The trailer shows Kaguya emerging from a gaming pole and growing rapidly as the main theme "Ex-Otogibanashi" plays. While Iyaha is initially confused, she gradually comes to accept Kaguya's presence. In a scene where Iyaha mutters words of hope amidst a backdrop of cheers, "Moment, Symphony" plays and Kaguya is shown singing the chorus. While the video features an exhilarating song and dynamic action scenes, it also features some lonely lines.
Additional cast members have also been announced, including Miyu Irino as Akira Mikado, the leader of the popular professional gamer group "Black Onyx," Uchida Yuuma as Komazawa Kaminari, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Komazawa Noyori, Yoshino Aoyama Yoshino as Aya Tsumugi Ashikaga, a friend of Iyaha, Konomi Kohara Yoshimi as Isayama Mami, Fairouz Ai in the virtual world of Tsukuyomi, and Natsuki Hanae as Otokoto Terukoto.
Irino commented, "I was able to let loose and act, and it was a lot of fun! The Emperor is full of charisma. He's just so charming. I'm in awe of him! Not only is the quality of the illustrations great, but the songs are great too! I'm in awe of him."
Uchida said, "Kami is a quiet character. I felt the weight of every word while recording. 'Super Kaguyahime!' features many unique characters. I hope you enjoy it!"
Matsuoka commented, "This is a work that accurately depicts both the beautiful and the raw sides of human beings. It is also a story of each character's growth, so I hope you will pay attention to that as well. The songs, animation, direction, everything is of a quality that will touch your heart, and when you finish watching it, you will think, 'I'm glad I saw it.' Also, I play a man, a boy, a masculine character! Make sure you remember that 'only'!!"
"That aside, I think that those who watch the entire story will be left with something that only those who have seen it can understand. When you think about it again, it is a work with a worldview that is similar to our current everyday lives, and one that makes you think that perhaps a future like this could really come in a few decades. I hope that many people will enjoy it. Thank you very much."
Aoyama said, "Ashika is Ayaha's friend, and while she can be cool and playful, she is also kind and warm-hearted, and together with her friend Makoto, the two of them watch over Ayaha in their own way. After watching the PV, I feel deeply moved and happy that we can once again experience in a new form the culture created by the gods who created us on that day and at that time. Please look forward to it!"
Obara commented, "The time spent with Kaguya, who is very interested in the world of Earth. Although it is out of the ordinary, there are many moments that make me think it would be fun if they actually happened. And Makoto is also one of those who is increasingly drawn into Kaguya's charm. Her singing voice resonates against the beautiful visuals that give a sense of the near future. I hope everyone will enjoy it! Please look forward to it."
The story is about the bond between girls connected by song. One day, 17-year-old high school student Ayaka Sakayori, who leads an incredibly busy life juggling part-time work and studies, meets Kaguya, who appears from inside a gaming utility pole shining in seven colors.
Studio Colorido, known for "Penguin Highway," and Studio Chromat, led by director Yamashita, are teaming up to produce the anime. Music will be provided by a stellar cast of Vocaloid producers, including ryo from "supercell," kz from "livetune," 40mP, HoneyWorks, Aqu3ra, and yuigot. The main cast includes Yuko Natsuyoshi as Kaguya, Anna Nagase as Ayaka Sakayori, and Saori Hayami as Yachiyo Tsukimi. The film will be available worldwide exclusively on Netflix from January 22nd.
