A new story visual has been released for the TV anime "Atelier of Witch Hat," based on the manga by Kamome Shirahama. In episode 11, which aired on June 15th, it was revealed that Riche had previously ended her master-disciple relationship with another wizard, and the truth behind Riche's stubborn belief that "I don't need other people's magic" was gradually unraveled. The visual expresses the different feelings of the three characters: Riche, who, against her will, is forced to take the second test at the behest of Kieffrey; Agate, who wants to prove her abilities in the test and become a full-fledged wizard as soon as possible; and Yuini, who has already failed the second test twice and is showing a lack of confidence.
As the anime approaches its climax, a web commercial has been released that condenses the highlights of the second test, which will be depicted in episodes 11 through the final episode 13. The video, which includes preview cuts from the final episode, shows the trials that Agate, Riche, and Yuini face as they make their way through the Serpent's Back Cave, as well as the figure of Sasaran, the man in the wide-brimmed hat who relentlessly targets them and utters ominous words. Coco, Tetia, and Kieffrey, who are waiting outside the cave for the test to end, will also face their greatest crisis yet.
A short preview video for episode 12, "The Shadow of Lomonon," which will air and stream on June 22nd, has also been released on YouTube.
"Atelier of Witch Hat" tells the story of Coco, a girl who longs to be a wizard, as she steps into the mysterious world of magic. The series began serialization in "Monthly Morning Two" (Kodansha) in 2016, and has sold over 9 million copies worldwide. It has been selected for manga awards in France, Spain, South Korea, and other countries, and in 2020 won the Eisner Award for Best Asian Work, attracting attention from around the world.
The TV anime is currently airing on TOKYO MX and other channels.
