The first four episodes of the "Journey to Ise Shrine" series of the popular NHK variety show "Bura Tamori" (General TV, Saturday 7:30 pm), in which the entertainer Tamori visits various towns, will be rebroadcast in a "binge-watch" format from 8:15 am on May 6th. The series will conclude on the 10th.
Among the roads leading to Ise Grand Shrine, known as the "Iseji Route," is the main route for people heading to Ise Shrine from Edo, stretching 90 kilometers from Kuwana City, Mie Prefecture, to Ise Grand Shrine. During the Edo period, the "Iseji Route" was so fascinating that people would sing, "I want to go to Ise, I want to see the Iseji Route." What kind of road was this?
In this series, we will reveal the unknown charms of post towns such as Yokkaichi, Suzuka, Tsu, and Matsusaka through the traces left behind in these areas.
Tamori's travel partner will be NHK Hiroshima announcer Mana Sato, and the narration will be provided by singer-songwriter Aimyon.
