Actor Koichi Sato will appear on the NHK documentary program "Family History" (General TV), which will be broadcast on April 30th from 7:30 pm. Sato's father is Rentaro Mikuni, one of the leading actors of the Showa era. His son is the up-and-coming actor Kanichiro. The history of the acting family spanning three generations will be unravelled.
For Sato, his father, actor Rentaro Mikuni, was a big presence in many ways.
There were rumors of a rift between them at times, but the reality was not so simple. Their relationship was so multifaceted, so far and yet so close, so warm and deep. Sato-san now wants to know once again what his father, who played the role of a "human" throughout his life as an actor, was carrying and what he was seeking in life.
