Actor Hana Sugisaki Hana will star in the NTV drama series "Winter Something, Spring Something" (Wednesdays at 10pm) which will begin airing on January 14th. The drama is a love story based on an original script by director Imaizumi Rikiya, known for films such as "Love is Hard" (2019) and "Undercurrent" (2023). Sugisaki will play Tsuchida Fumina, a novelist whose various past romantic experiences have led her to avoid "falling in love properly" and "facing people properly."
The drama marks Director Imaizumi's first directorial work in the primetime. The story follows novelist Fumina, who looks back on her past relationships in order to seriously confront her current boyfriend. Ryo Narita plays Fumina's boyfriend, Saeki Yukio.
The cast also includes Okayama Amane as Hayase Kotaro, a senior whom Fumina met at the ramen shop where she worked part-time during her student days, Mizusawa Rintaro as Kazuchi, a waiter at Fumina's favorite coffee shop, Isunikyaku, Nouchi Maru as Fumina's friend En-chan, Sara Shida as Fumina's university classmate Maki, Kura Yuki as Shibasaki Hide, Fumina's high school boyfriend, Yuki Kura as Kobayashi Erhu, a popular novelist who was Fumina's boyfriend around the time of her graduation from university, and Hosoda Kaito as Fumina's ex-boyfriend Kanata Hosoda.
Also appearing in the cast are Uchibori Taro as Yamada Sen, a novelist and senior to Fumina, Hayashi Yuta as Fumina's younger brother Tsuchida Takuya, Kawai Aoba as Tada Minami, who is in charge of editing Fumina at the publishing company, and Serizawa Koji as Joe, the manager of Isunikyaku.
In the first episode... Novelist Tsuchida Fumina often uses the laundromat in her neighborhood. She likes the lonely atmosphere.
That night, while listening to music and writing down words in the "notebook for organizing thoughts" that he carries with him every day, he meets Yukio Saeki, a hairdresser who happens to be using the laundromat because the washer-dryer at his shop has broken down.
Fumina has a casual conversation with Yukio, who is a fan of "Michelle Gun Elephant," whose music was leaking from Fumina's earphones. Then, out of curiosity, she follows him to the hair salon...
