The 23rd episode of the NHK Taiga drama "BROTHERS IN ARMS (Toyotomi Brothers!)" (NHK General, Sundays at 8 PM, etc.), starring actor Taiga Nakano, aired on June 14th. The episode depicted Hanbei (Masaki Suda Suda) arriving at Nagahama Castle and being ambushed by a series of traps, which became a hot topic among viewers.
In episode 23, when Araki Murashige (Tortoise Matsumoto) stages a rebellion, Kanbei (Yuki Kura) acts on his own initiative to try and persuade Murashige, but ends up being captured. As rumors spread that Kanbei has betrayed them, Nobunaga (Shun Oguri) gives an order to eliminate Kanbei's son, Matsujumaru, who is being looked after by Nene (Minami Hamabe) in Nagahama.
Hanbei then proposes a plan to save the young life to the hesitant Hideyoshi (Sosuke Ikematsu) and Koichiro (Nakano), but in reality, he heads to Nagahama Castle intending to kill Matsujumaru.
Ando Morinari (Tetsushi Tanaka) is also at the castle and is reunited with Hanbei. Meanwhile, the women, including Nene, are wary of Hanbei's visit and try to protect Matsujumaru together, but Hanbei, intending to take all the blame himself, begins searching for Matsujumaru, who is supposed to be hiding inside the castle. However, one after another, "booby traps" appear to block his path. Even Hanbei gradually finds himself struggling...and so the story unfolds.
On social media, viewers were excited, with comments such as, "Is this Home Alone?", "A Japanese version of Home Alone?", "It looks like the main story of Takeshi's Castle!", "Is it a trick house or the Seven Days War?", "An attraction called 'Find Matsujumaru'", and "The tricks are amazing!".
Also, referencing the episode 9, "The Man Named Takenaka Hanbei" (aired March 8), in which Koichiro and others visited Hanbei, some commented, "Is this trap house a form of revenge for when they barged into Hanbei's house?"
Furthermore, they expressed interest with comments such as, "Who instructed them on setting up the trap?", "Who set up the trap?", "But who put up this trap?", "It's a pretty serious, or rather dangerous trap, whose idea was it?", and "Did they all make that deadly-looking trap together?"
